Our keynote speaker is Dr. Junius Johnson, a Yale-trained scholar of theology, philosophy, and literature who devotes his time to thinking and writing about whatever is good, noble, and excellent, and how to bring these things to bear to nurture meaningful lives. He is a prolific writer, an engaging speaker, an inspiring teacher, and a passionate musician (https://juniusjohnson.com). He is joined by pianist Dr Paul Barnes (https://paulbarnes.net) who has been "Praised by the New York Times for his “Lisztian thunder and deft fluidity," and the San Francisco Chronicle as “ferociously virtuosic,” pianist Paul Barnes has electrified audiences with his intensely expressive playing and cutting-edge programming. He has been featured seven times on APM’s Performance Today and on the cover of Clavier Magazine with his recordings streamed worldwide.” Other presenters include poet Joffre Swait (https://joffreswait.substack.com) and Executive Director of the Anslem Society Brian Brown (https://www.anselmsociety.org/people-1/2019/6/9/brian-brown). The conference includes live music, engagement with poetry, visual art and plenty of rich conversation about the role Beauty plays in a life well-lived from a Christian perspective.
