For me, music is one of the places where the soul becomes visible. At times it seems that the soul is reflected in music; at other times, music reveals something hidden within the soul itself. In that mysterious dialogue, we touch something of the beauty woven into creation.
I believe that this beauty ultimately flows from the love of God, which is the true source of all beauty. The artist, therefore, is not only an interpreter of music but also, at times, a creator — giving form and sound to the beauty that lives within the soul. When music is created or performed with sincerity and openness to that divine love, it can become a small reflection of the beauty placed in the world from the beginning.
It is precisely this understanding of beauty that makes the work of Kalos so meaningful to me, and I am grateful to be part of a community that continues to reflect on the deeper vocation of the arts.
